Consultation and dermatoscopy of pigmented nevi
Umów wizytęOpis zabiegu
Consultation and dermatoscopy of pigmented nevi is a non-invasive diagnostic procedure during which a dermatologist evaluates skin lesions (primarily pigmented nevi) using a dermatoscope—a specialized magnifying device.
This procedure allows for a precise analysis of the structure of nevi, helping to identify early signs of melanoma and other types of skin cancer.
Dermatoscopy can assess whether a mole is benign or requires further diagnosis or removal.

The consultation begins with a medical history review, during which the doctor asks the patient about any changes in the appearance of nevi, family history of skin cancer, and other relevant information.
The doctor then performs dermatoscopy. The dermatoscope, equipped with magnifying lenses and special lighting, enables detailed examination of the nevi. Detected lesions may be documented through photographs for further comparison.
The doctor discusses the results of the examination and recommends further treatment, such as regular check-ups, biopsy, or removal of the lesion.

- Changes in shape, color, or size of nevi.
- Appearance of new moles or spots on the skin.
- Nevi with irregular edges, asymmetrical or multi-colored nevi.

Przeciwskazania
- There are no specific contraindications for performing only dermatoscopy, as it is a non-invasive procedure.
- However, the procedure is not recommended for fresh wounds or active skin infections in the examination area, which may hinder the assessment of nevi.
- For patients with very dry, cracked skin, dermatoscopy may be less accurate—it’s advisable to consult a dermatologist before the procedure to prepare the skin.
