Opis zabiegu

Curettage of skin lesions is a dermatological procedure involving the mechanical removal of unwanted skin lesions using a specialized instrument called a dermatological curette. This procedure is commonly used to remove warts, certain types of nevi, keratoses, and other benign skin lesions.

During curettage, the doctor carefully scrapes and removes the skin lesion with a sharp dermatological curette. The procedure is often performed under local anesthesia to minimize patient discomfort. Curettage allows for precise removal of the lesion with minimal disruption to surrounding healthy tissue, promoting quick healing and minimizing scarring risk.

Szczegóły zabiegu

The procedure is usually quick, taking only a few to several minutes, depending on the size and number of skin lesions being treated. After applying local anesthesia, the doctor carefully scrapes the affected area layer by layer with the curette. The treatment area is then disinfected, and if necessary, bandaged.

Healing begins immediately after the procedure and generally takes a few days to a few weeks, depending on the depth and size of the removed lesion.
