Videodermoscopic examination of the scalp

A videodermoscope is a modern combined optical device that enables up to 150x magnification of skin lesions, with images transmitted to a computer workstation.

For examinations of the scalp, diagnoses are based on digital analysis of images magnified up to 70 times.

A trichologist consultation using a videodermoscope takes approximately 45 minutes. The dermatologist begins by gathering a detailed history of your scalp and hair care routines, cosmetics used, diet, medical conditions, medications, and previous treatments. Following this, a trichoscopic examination is conducted with a specialized FotoFinder videodermoscope. This device provides a 70x magnified view of the scalp, helping to identify the cause of hair loss.

Based on the examination results, the doctor may recommend additional tests, such as blood tests, which can be done on-site at the clinic. Once results are available, effective treatment, including medication, can be started to address hair loss.
