Augmentation of labia majora with hyaluronic acid
Augmentation of labia majora with hyaluronic acid

With age, the skin loses density and elasticity not only on the face but also in intimate areas. Perimenopausal patients often report frequent vaginal infections, associated not only with vaginal mucosal atrophy and decreased levels of sex hormones but also with atrophy of the labia majora, which form a natural barrier protecting the vaginal entrance.
Labial atrophy refers to the loss or reduction of subcutaneous fat in this area and can be caused by menopause or genetic factors.
This condition causes the most discomfort for women who are physically active in sports like horseback riding or cycling, as the area can become painful. Another, though less common, reason for the procedure is significant labial asymmetry, which can lead to psychological distress.
Szczegóły zabiegu
The hyaluronic acid injection procedure includes disinfecting the vulvar skin and applying local anesthesia at the injection sites. Following a needle puncture, the cannula is inserted into the subcutaneous tissue of the labia majora, beginning at the lower end and proceeding symmetrically. The procedure takes about 30 minutes on average and is almost painless for the patient.
The result of the treatment is primarily increased hydration of the middle and deep layers of the dermis, volume restoration, filling of the labia, and symmetry correction. A key advantage is the immediate and noticeable effect, which continues to improve over the next two weeks as water absorption occurs. Typically, the procedure does not need to be repeated for 1-2 years.
Post-procedure restrictions are minimal; the patient should avoid pressure on the perineum for about two weeks. This includes refraining from activities like horseback riding, cycling, and wearing tight clothing or underwear.
