Gynecological consultation

A gynaecological consultation is a visit to a specialist who assesses the health of the female reproductive system, diagnoses any ailments, and prevents gynecological diseases. During the visit, the doctor takes a detailed history and performs a gynecological examination and, if necessary, orders additional tests such as ultrasound or cytology. Consultation is an essential part of caring for the intimate health of women of all ages.

Duration: 15-30 minutes.

Preparation: Intimate hygiene, avoidance of vaginal preparations before cytology.

Course: Medical history, gynecological examination, possible ultrasound or cytology.

Results: Health assessment, diagnosis of complaints, recommendations for treatment or prevention.

Recovery: None, patient returns to daily activities.

• Regular prophylactic gynecological examinations (once a year).
• Pelvic or abdominal pain complaints.
• Irregular periods or other menstrual cycle problems.
• Planning pregnancy or contraception.
• Symptoms of intimate infections (e.g. burning, itching, discharge).

• No absolute contraindications; in the case of acute infections it may be advisable to postpone the appointment until they have cleared.
