Bone regeneration is a dental procedure aimed at rebuilding lost bone tissue necessary for implant procedures or improving tooth stability. The procedure involves filling the defects with bone-forming material, either autogenous (own) or synthetic, which supports the formation of new bone tissue. Regeneration provides a suitable foundation for implants and improves oral health.

Duration: 30-90 minutes, depending on the extent of the defect.

Preparation: Consultation, X-ray or CT scan, oral hygiene.

Course: Anaesthesia, filling of the defect with bone-forming material, closure of the wound.

Results: Bone reconstruction to allow implantation; healing takes several months to a year.

Recovery: Minimal discomfort, hygiene recommendations, and avoidance of exertion.

Wskazania

  • Bone loss due to periodontal disease, trauma, or tooth extraction.
  • Insufficient bone tissue for implant placement.
  • There is need to improve the stability of the teeth adjacent to the bone defect.

  • Active infections in the oral cavity.
  • Advanced systemic diseases, e.g. uncontrolled diabetes.
  • Blood clotting disorders.
  • Lack of patient cooperation in oral hygiene.
