The implant exposure procedure is a surgical operation performed at the second stage of implant treatment in order to expose the dental implant that was placed in the bone at the first stage. After the period of osseointegration (usually lasts from 3 to 6 months), when the implant finally fuses with the bone, it is necessary to expose the implant to install a fixation screw or a final prosthetic crown.
Szczegóły zabiegu
During the procedure, the surgeon cuts the gum above the area where the implant is placed to expose it. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia, which minimizes pain and discomfort for the patient. After the implant is exposed, the dentist attaches a healing screw to facilitate the formation of healthy gums around the future crown. The procedure is relatively quick, usually taking 20-30 minutes, and the gum healing process usually takes about two weeks.
