CO2 laser scar removal
CO2 laser scar removal
Umów wizytęOpis zabiegu
CO2 laser scar removal is an effective method of reducing various types of scars, including acne, post-surgical and burn scars. The CO2 laser works on the principle of fractional ablation, i.e. it removes microscopic columns of tissue, leaving the surrounding tissue intact, which speeds up the healing process and minimizes the risk of complications.
The treatment involves the precise removal of the upper layers of skin at the site of a scar using a concentrated beam of laser light. Due to its ability to penetrate deeply into the skin, the CO2 laser stimulates the production of new collagen and elastin, which leads to tissue regeneration and gradual improvement of the appearance of scars. The procedure can be performed under local anesthesia to ensure patient comfort.
Szczegóły zabiegu
Before the procedure, the skin is cleansed and anaesthetized. The doctor irradiates the skin with a CO2 laser, focusing on the scar-affected areas.
The duration of the procedure depends on the size and number of scars to be treated but usually ranges from a dozen to several dozen minutes.
After the procedure, the skin may be reddened, swollen, and slightly painful, like after a sunburn. The full healing process can take from several days to several weeks, depending on the depth and intensity of the treatment.
