Opis zabiegu

Throughout a woman’s life, various processes can cause disruptions in blood circulation, innervation, or stretching of the vaginal walls. Natural and surgical childbirth, often resulting in trauma to the vaginal walls, tears, or hematomas, can significantly affect the anatomy and functionality of the vagina. Modern laser therapy can be an effective solution.

Vaginal injuries are typically treated surgically right after they occur; however, if there is less severe damage to deeper pelvic tissues (such as the pelvic diaphragm muscles), the consequences may not manifest until many years later.
Other contributing factors include heavy physical labor involving standing, hormonal changes, and participation in certain sports.

Additionally, the loss of vaginal elasticity, often caused by childbirth or the size of the fetus, can lead to diminished sexual sensations due to the expansion of the vaginal walls.

Szczegóły zabiegu

Laser vaginal revitalization always begins with a thorough consultation with a gynecologist, who will first assess the patient’s overall health and perform a gynecological exam to determine whether there are any contraindications for the procedure. The gynecologist will also recommend a cytological examination, which is necessary for performing the treatment. If there are any doubts regarding the patient’s health, the doctor may order blood tests and a general urine test.

Before the procedure, local anesthesia is applied to the vagina using a cream such as 2% lidocaine, followed by disinfection. A vaginal mirror is inserted, with a head that is equipped with an adapter to illuminate the vagina 360 degrees. Laser energy is directed onto the vaginal walls in a circular manner, with no overlapping areas. The total irradiation dose depends on the length of the vagina. Once the entire vaginal canal has been irradiated, the mirror is removed. The procedure is practically painless, and patients report only feeling warmth, which is not unpleasant. If the external genitalia are to be treated with a laser, local anesthesia can be applied through epidural anesthesia or topical anesthetic cream.

After the procedure, slight redness, swelling, and discomfort may occur, which usually resolves within 1-2 days. Patients are advised to refrain from sexual activity for 7 days, avoid hot baths, soaking, saunas, and limit heavy physical exertion.
