A Schwarz plate is a removable orthodontic appliance used mainly in children and adolescents to correct malocclusion. It consists of an acrylic plate fitted to the palate and metal brackets and screws that allow the force applied to the teeth to be adjusted. The appliance promotes the development of the dental arch, the straightening of teeth, and the correction of bite abnormalities in a comfortable and non-invasive manner.

Duration: Wearing of braces for 12-24 months, 14-16 hours a day.

Preparation: Consultation, taking an impression or scan of the teeth.

Course: Fitting of braces, instructions for use and adjustment, follow-up visits every 4-6 weeks.

Results: Expansion of the dental arch, improvement of tooth alignment, and bite correction.

Recuperation: None; braces can be worn immediately after fitting.
