Cryotherapy of skin lesions
Cryotherapy of skin lesions
Umów wizytęOpis zabiegu
Cryotherapy of skin lesions is a treatment method that involves the localized application of extremely low temperatures to freeze and destroy unwanted skin lesions, such as warts, nevi, actinic keratosis, or small hemangiomas. This procedure is widely used in dermatology due to its effectiveness, speed, and minimal risk of complications.
During cryotherapy, the doctor uses liquid nitrogen or another refrigerant with a special applicator to rapidly freeze the affected area of the skin. This procedure leads to the crystallization of water in the tissue cells, resulting in damage and ultimately necrosis (cell death). The use of extremely low temperatures allows for precise and controlled destruction of unwanted skin lesions with minimal impact on surrounding healthy tissue.
Szczegóły zabiegu
Cryotherapy usually does not require anesthesia and lasts from a few seconds to several minutes, depending on the type and size of the lesion being treated. The doctor applies liquid nitrogen directly to the skin lesion using an applicator (such as a cannula or spray) or through a contact cap, allowing for precise treatment.
After the procedure, there may be pain, redness, and swelling at the site of application, followed by the formation of a scab that falls off, revealing new, healthy skin.
