Plastic surgery of scars

Scar plication is a surgical or laser procedure to improve the appearance, reduce the visibility or improve the function of the skin at the scar site. The procedure may involve excision of the old scar, appropriate tissue suturing or the use of advanced technologies such as laser therapy. The procedure allows for a more aesthetically pleasing and functional result, especially for hypertrophic scars, keloids or scars that limit skin mobility.

Duration: 30 minutes to 2 hours.

Preparation: Consultation, blood tests, avoidance of blood-thinning drugs.

Course: Removal of old scar and precise suturing of tissues or use of laser therapy.

Results: Improvement in the appearance of the scar after healing, full results after a few weeks.

Recovery: Swelling and redness for a few days; UV protection and avoidance of the sun.

• Active skin infections in the treatment area.
