Opis zabiegu

A metal crown lined with porcelain is a type of prosthetic that combines the strength of metal with the aesthetics of porcelain. It is designed to restore the function and appearance of a damaged tooth, being an excellent compromise between strength and aesthetic appearance.

The procedure involves grinding the damaged tooth to prepare the space for the crown, after which an accurate impression is taken to create an individual crown. The metal base of the crown is molded to fit exactly to the ground tooth, and the outer surface is covered with a layer of porcelain to give it a natural look. After manufacturing, the crown is permanently attached to the tooth with cement.

Szczegóły zabiegu

The process of installing a porcelain-ceramic crown usually requires at least two visits to the dentist. During the first visit, the tooth is prepared, and then an impression is taken, which is sent to a dental laboratory for the manufacture of the crown.

For the patient’s protection and comfort, a temporary crown can be placed on the tooth while waiting for the permanent crown. At the next appointment, the permanent crown is placed, checked for occlusion and aesthetics, and then permanently cemented.
